Access Product
Marketing is still a relatively young company, though we have
grown rapidly over the last couple
of years.
Our origins go back to 1997 when
a group of entrepreneurs, with considerable experience in the
marketing and sales of branded consumer healthcare products,
formed a partnership that focused on outsourced sales services
for the healthcare industry. We applied our 'big company' expertise
to assist companies which lacked this capability helping them
access the consumer marketplace through the retail pharmacy
network.
In 1999, realizing the importance of diabetes care, we shifted
the focus of our sales service business to concentrate on this
growing sector. Over the next year, the management team began
a brand development and product licensing business for retail
pharmacy, focusing on value-based diabetes care. We reinforced
our expertise in the category with the launch of new device
technologies into the consumer marketplace with Theresense.
Our next milestone was the acquisition of MDI from Becton Dickinson
in 2001, which also marked the beginning of our medical device
product development program. We formed a successful partnership
with AMG Medical in the following year that has helped us expand
into the US home healthcare sector.
We acquired Can-Am Care from Johnson & Johnson in 2002,
securing our presence in the value-based diabetes care market.
We have received great response to the Can-Am Care line of syringes,
lancets and glucose tablets.
The highlight for 2003 was the launch of the HUGO brand into
the retail marketplace. The HUGO® brand rolling walker has
garnered acclaim from our mobility and homecare customers.
We have a number of initiatives planned for the next year, and
we will update this page once they become public.
